Snowmobile accident kills 22-year-old from Oriskany

OLD FORGE, February 8, 2010 -A 22-year-old Oriskany woman died Saturday evening after her snowmobile fell into a patch of open water in Third Lake in Old Forge.

Nicole Robertello was traveling with Clayton Knutti, of Ava, when they encountered the patch of open water. According to reports, Knutti made it over the hazard and looked behind him to see Robertello sinking in the water.

Knutti jumped in to attempt to rescue her but was unable. He went to a near by home to get help, and after 2 hours of searching Robertello’s body was recovered from the water.
