Collision sends one to hospital

WESTMORELAND, N.Y., JULY 30, 2009- According to Deputy Bolton of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office there was a two car motor vehicle accident on Stone Road in the Town of Westmoreland at 6:04 P.M. Wednesday evening.

Spencer Behrendt, age 60, of Cold Brook, was operating her 1999 Volkswagon northwest as she was pulling out of a driveway on the southern shoulder of the roadway.  Behrendt was then struck by a second vehicle which had been travelling west on Stone Road. 

The second vehicle, a 2007 GMC Yukon, was operated by Melinda Vogel, age 29, of Whitesboro.  Behrendt refused treatment at the scene. Vogel was transported to St. Luke's Hospital by COCVAC for evaluation.  Behrendt was ticketed for failure to yield right of way.  The Westmoreland Fire Department and the New York State Police Assisted at the scene
