American Red Cross Offers Guard Start Classes

Participants gain pre-lifeguard training skills, and certification in First Aid and Adult CPR/AED.

Participants need to be between the ages of 11 and 14 and be able to swim the front crawl for 25 yards continuously while breathing to the front or side, tread water for 1 minute using arms and legs, and submerge & swim a distance of 10 feet underwater.

The GuardStart class will be offered at Hamilton College (during our Spring Aquatics School) on Saturdays, April 10, 17 and 24 from 9 to 3 pm. The cost of the course is $50. Pre-registration is required. For more information call the American Red Cross at 315-866-2890 or visit www.redcrossmv.org
