Plaxico Burress interview from Rome prison airs on Superbowl pre-game show
ROME, Feb 7, 2010-- An apologetic Plaxico Burress, the former New York Giant player sentenced to two years in a Rome, NY prison, said he will 'play again' during an interview that aired on the CBS Superbowl pregame show Sunday afternoon.

Burress, 32, told his former coach, Bill Cowher, his decision to carry a gun on the night of his accident was a "selfish decision."
"I want to be a better brother, friend and then a football player" he told Cowher.
The former Super Bowl hero who will likely serve 20 months in prison, with time off for good behavior, shot himself in the thigh with an unlicensed gun in the nightclub incident.
He accepted a plea bargain in August of last year to charges that stemmed from an accidental shooting at a Manhattan nightclub last November. He was initially indicted on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and one count of second-degree reckless endangerment.
The 32 year old, released by the Giants in April, caught the winning touchdown pass in the Super Bowl after the 2007 season.
Burress told Cowher that he works out about four times a week. When asked if he might play in the NFL again following his release in 2011, Burress said he will.
While in prison, his wife gave birth to a baby girl. Burress said he was able to hold his two-month old daughter for the first time last month. The former Giant said he was extremely nervous to see his daughter and compared it to the jitters he felt before playing in the Superbowl.
In the interview, Burress vowed to be a better man.
"I want to be a better brother, friend and then a football player" he told Cowher.
As for what Burress would tell his teammates, should he be allowed back in the NFL?
"Don't take anything for granted. We all have goals, dreams and aspirations. Just don't take anything for granted.
