ROME, June 24, 2010 – The Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, Inc. is collaborating with the Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome to offer girls in grades 9-12 an opportunity to participate in a mentoring/shadowing program.

Girls interested in careers in engineering, computer science, cyber security, communication information intelligent systems, or research and development, can spend a day, a week, or a few hours with a professional in her chosen field. Girls will shadow this person in the actual job environment and find out first hand what a job in this field entails.

There is no cost to participate in this program. This program takes place at a government facility; therefore participants will be required to provide certain information to receive permission to enter this program. The deadline is a minimum of three weeks before the participant wants to begin the program. For more information or to register, contact Karen Lubecki at (315) 733-2391, ext. 28 or klubecki@gsnypenn.org.
