HCCC Softball Signs Two Recruits
HERKIMER, March 30, 2010 -- Herkimer County Community College’s women’s softball head coach PJ Anadio recently announced the signing of national letters of intent by Shannon McBride (Mechanicville, NY) and Emily Baldwin (Gloversville, NY) to play for the Generals next year.
A senior at Mechanicville High School, McBride was an All-State player last year. Anadio said, “Having a player of Shannon’s capabilities even consider Herkimer, let alone sign with us, is proof that the program is headed in the right direction. She is a scholarship type talent right now out of high school. She is a big-time talent who has played in some big-time games and I can’t wait for her to bring that big-time experience to Herkimer. She is that special talent who will make everyone around her better.”
Baldwin, a three-sport standout for Gloversville High School, will play soccer, basketball and softball for the Generals. Anadio said, “Emily has the whole package to be an incredible athlete in any sport at this level. She has that unique blend of power, speed, athleticism and skill set to make a huge impact here whether it’s on the field, court or the diamond. Very rarely do we come across a young lady with the capabilities that Emily possesses. Needless to say, we are very fortunate that Emily will be wearing a Generals uniform next year.”
